What is it?
Wella Professionals Fusion Intense Repair Mask is an intensive hair treatment created for damaged, fragile and breakage-prone hair. It provides deeper care than your everyday conditioner, helping damaged hair feel smoother, softer and more resilient.
Who is it for?
A great choice if your hair:
feels weak, rough or damaged
breaks easily when brushing or combing
has been stressed by heat styling, colouring, bleaching or chemical treatments
needs more intensive care than a regular conditioner provides
What does it do?
The Fusion Mask helps care for damaged hair and improve its resistance to breakage. The formula features Wella's Silksteel Fusion Technology, inspired by spider silk, with silk amino acids and conditioning ingredients designed to support damaged hair fibres.
Mask or Conditioner — what's the difference?
Think of the conditioner as your regular maintenance step and the mask as your more intensive treatment. You don't need to replace your conditioner permanently — the mask can be added when your hair needs extra care.
How to use it
Shampoo your hair and rinse thoroughly.
Remove excess water from the hair.
Apply the mask through the lengths and ends, concentrating on damaged areas.
Leave it on according to the product directions, then rinse thoroughly.
Style as usual.
How often should I use it?
That depends on your hair's condition and routine. Very damaged hair may benefit from more regular intensive care, while hair with less damage may only need a mask occasionally.
Choose your size
150 ml — ideal if you're discovering Fusion or want the smaller size.
500 ml — better value for regular users and longer-term routines.
VELLORA TIP✨
If you're new to intensive hair masks, start with a small amount and focus mainly on the lengths and ends. More product doesn't automatically mean better results.
Wella Professionals Fusion Intense Repair Mask
Not sure how to use a hair mask properly? Here’s the complete routine.
The Fusion Intense Repair Mask is an intensive treatment step. It goes on after shampooing, when your hair is clean and ready to receive the treatment.
STEP 1 — SHAMPOO FIRST
Wet your hair thoroughly and wash with your shampoo as usual.
If you're using the complete Fusion routine, start with Wella Professionals Fusion Intense Repair Shampoo.
Rinse thoroughly.
STEP 2 — REMOVE EXCESS WATER
Before applying the mask, gently squeeze excess water from your hair.
Your hair should be damp, not dripping wet. Too much water can unnecessarily dilute the product and make it harder to distribute where you actually need it.
STEP 3 — APPLY THE MASK
Take a small amount of product and distribute it through the mid-lengths and ends, focusing especially on areas that feel damaged, rough or fragile.
Start with less than you think you need — you can always add more.
“Should I put it on my scalp?”
For most people, there's no need to concentrate the mask on the scalp. Fusion is designed to care for damaged hair lengths, so focus primarily on the areas that need repair and conditioning.
If your roots tend to become oily or heavy easily, keep most of the product away from them.
STEP 4 — DISTRIBUTE EVENLYWork the product gently through your hair with your fingers.
For longer or thicker hair, dividing it into sections can help make sure the mask is distributed evenly instead of using a large amount in one area.
STEP 5 — LET THE MASK WORK
Leave the product on for the amount of time indicated on the packaging.
Leaving a mask on for much longer does not automatically mean better results — follow the product directions rather than assuming “longer = stronger.”
STEP 6 — RINSE THOROUGHLY
Rinse your hair thoroughly with water, making sure no unnecessary product residue remains.
Then style as usual.
“Do I use the mask before or after conditioner?”
Think of the mask as your intensive conditioning treatment after shampooing. You don't automatically need to layer several rich conditioning products every time you wash your hair.
How you combine the mask and conditioner can depend on your hair's needs and how your hair responds to richer products.
“How often should I use it?”
There isn't one perfect schedule for everyone.
Hair that is highly damaged or frequently exposed to bleaching, colouring or heat may need intensive care more regularly, while hair with less damage may need it only occasionally.
Pay attention to how your hair feels rather than using more product simply because it's available.
How much should I use?
It depends on your hair length, thickness and density.
Short or fine hair generally needs less. Long, thick or very dense hair will naturally need more.
The goal is to coat the lengths evenly — not to completely saturate them with product.
VELLORA EXPLAINS ✦
A hair mask isn't better because you use half the jar at once.
The important part is where and how you apply it: clean, damp hair + even distribution + extra attention to damaged lengths and ends.
More product ≠ more repair.
Better application = a better routine.
What does it actually feel — and smell — like?
Because performance matters, but so does the experience of using it. ✨
THE TEXTURE
The Fusion Intense Repair Mask has a rich, creamy treatment texture, designed to coat the hair and provide intensive conditioning without turning your shower into a complicated salon ritual.
Because it's a mask, expect it to feel richer and more concentrated than your everyday conditioner.
“Does rich mean I need a lot?”
No — quite the opposite.
Start with a small amount and distribute it carefully through the lengths and ends. Adding more only makes sense if your hair length or density actually needs it.
“Will it make my hair feel heavy?”
That can depend on your hair type, the amount you use and where you apply it.
If your hair is fine or becomes weighed down easily, start with less product and concentrate it mainly on damaged lengths and ends rather than the roots.
THE FRAGRANCE
Fusion has Wella's characteristic floriental woody fragrance, with notes including rose, white flowers and pear.
The result is a polished, salon-like scent that makes the treatment feel like more than just another step in your wash routine.
“Is fragrance the reason I should choose this mask?”
No.
The fragrance is part of the experience, but Fusion should primarily be chosen because your hair needs intensive care for damage and breakage.
VELLORA EXPLAINS ✦
Conditioner = your regular conditioning step.
Mask = the richer, more intensive treatment moment.
If your hair is fine, don't be scared of the word “mask.” Start small.
If your hair is thick, long or very damaged, you may naturally need more.
The goal isn't to make your hair disappear underneath a mountain of cream.
It's to give the areas that actually need care an even coating of product.
Not sure if you actually need a hair mask? Let’s make it easy.
The Fusion Intense Repair Mask may be a great choice if your hair:
feels weak, fragile or prone to breakage
has dry, rough or damaged lengths
tangles easily, especially when wet
has been coloured, bleached or chemically treated
is regularly exposed to blow-drying, straighteners or curling irons
feels like your regular conditioner alone is not giving damaged areas enough care
needs an additional intensive-care step in your routine
“My hair is dry. Does that automatically mean I need Fusion?”
Not necessarily.
Dryness and damage can happen together, but they are not exactly the same concern. Fusion is especially focused on damage, fragility and breakage. If your main concern is simply dryness or lack of nourishment, another Wella range may be a better match.
“My roots get oily but my ends are damaged. Can I still use it?”
Yes. Your scalp and your lengths can have completely different needs.
Apply the mask mainly through the mid-lengths and ends, concentrating on the damaged areas rather than covering an oily scalp unnecessarily.
“My hair is fine. Will a mask be too much?”
Not automatically. Start with a small amount, focus on the damaged lengths and see how your hair responds. Fine hair may simply need less product than very thick or dense hair.
“Do I need a mask if I already use conditioner?”
Not necessarily at every wash.
Conditioner is your regular conditioning step. A mask is an additional, more intensive care step for times when your hair needs more attention.
VELLORA EXPLAINS ✦
Don't ask only: “What is my hair type?”
Also ask: “What has my hair been through?”
Bleaching, colouring, chemical treatments, frequent heat and everyday mechanical stress can all contribute to damage.
If damage and breakage are what you're trying to address, that's where Fusion makes sense.
You've probably seen words like “Silksteel” and “amino acids” — but what do they actually mean for your hair?
Let's translate the beauty language. ✨
SILKSTEEL FUSION TECHNOLOGY
Fusion is built around Wella's Silksteel Fusion Technology, inspired by one of nature's strongest fibres: spider silk.
The technology combines ingredients selected to care for damaged, fragile hair and help improve its resilience against breakage.
But no — there isn't spider silk crawling around inside your mask.
It's the inspiration behind the technology, not a reason to panic when you open the jar.
SILK AMINO ACIDS
Amino acids are often described as building blocks.
In haircare, the important part is much simpler: the Fusion formula uses silk amino acids as part of its damage-care technology, helping support the conditioning and strengthening care of fragile hair.
“So does the mask permanently rebuild my hair?”
No hair mask can magically turn previously damaged hair back into untouched virgin hair.
What a good treatment can do is condition damaged areas, improve how the hair feels and behaves, and help make it more resilient against future breakage.
That's a much more useful promise than pretending one shower can erase years of bleach and straighteners. 🤡
CONDITIONING INGREDIENTS
The formula also contains conditioning components designed to help improve the feel and manageability of damaged hair.
Why does that matter?
Damaged hair can feel rough, tangled and difficult to manage. Conditioning helps the hair feel smoother and makes everyday handling easier — especially when you're brushing or styling fragile lengths.
MICRONISED LIPIDS
Fusion's care technology also uses micronised lipids as part of its intensive conditioning approach.
Think of lipids as part of the formula's conditioning support system: they're there to help care for stressed hair and improve its feel, particularly when the hair is wet and vulnerable to mechanical stress.
VELLORA EXPLAINS ✦
You don't need to memorise ingredient names to choose good haircare.
For Fusion, remember this:
Damaged + fragile + breaking hair → that's the problem this range was designed around.
Silksteel, amino acids and conditioning technology are the how.
Helping damaged hair feel stronger, smoother and better cared for is the part that actually matters when you're standing in the shower. ✨
So… what should you actually expect from the Fusion Mask?
Let's separate realistic haircare results from beauty-ad magic. ✨
AFTER USING THE MASK
Because this is an intensive conditioning treatment, your hair may feel:
softer and smoother
easier to detangle and manage
more conditioned through damaged lengths
less rough to the touch
better prepared for brushing and styling
If your hair is particularly dry, bleached or damaged, that difference may feel more noticeable.
“Will it repair all my damage?”
No — and no mask can erase every form of existing hair damage.
Hair that has already been damaged by bleaching, colouring, chemical treatments, heat or mechanical stress cannot simply be returned to its untouched original state by one cosmetic product.
Fusion is designed to care for damaged hair and help improve its resilience against breakage.
Think: support + conditioning + protection against breakage
Rather than:
“my damaged hair has magically become brand new.” 😂
“Will I see a difference after one use?”
You may notice an immediate difference in softness, smoothness and manageability, because conditioning benefits can be felt from the first application.
But caring for damaged hair is a routine, not a one-mask rescue mission.
How your hair responds will also depend on its condition, previous treatments, styling habits and the other products in your routine.
“Does it fix split ends?”
A mask can help damaged ends feel smoother and better conditioned, but it cannot permanently fuse a physically split hair strand back together.
If an end is severely split, eventually the real solution is ✂️.
The mask's job is to help you care for the hair you have and reduce unnecessary stress and breakage, not replace a haircut.
WHAT ABOUT THE “UP TO 95%” FUSION CLAIM?
You may see Wella reference up to 95% more resilience against breakage for the Fusion care system.
That does not mean “95% of your hair damage disappears.”
It's a breakage-resilience claim made under Wella's specified testing/comparison conditions — a very different thing.
We'd rather explain the number than put a giant 95% REPAIR!!! on the page and let you assume something the claim doesn't actually mean.
VELLORA EXPLAINS ✦
A good result isn't necessarily hair that suddenly looks completely different.
Sometimes it's hair that feels:
less rough → easier to detangle → easier to handle → better conditioned → more resilient to everyday breakage.
That's what intensive damage care is actually trying to achieve.
Got the Shampoo, Conditioner and Mask — now what?
You don't need a complicated 12-step hair routine. The important part is understanding what each product is there to do.
1 - CLEANSE
Fusion Intense Repair Shampoo
This is your cleansing step.
Use it first to wash the scalp and hair, removing oil, buildup and impurities while preparing your hair for the conditioning steps that follow.
Shampoo = CLEAN
It isn't the treatment you leave sitting on your lengths, and using more shampoo won't repair your hair faster.
2 - CONDITION
Fusion Intense Repair Conditioner
This is your regular conditioning step.
After shampooing, conditioner helps soften and condition the lengths, improve manageability and make detangling easier.
It's the product that makes sense as part of your regular wash routine when your hair needs conditioning.
Conditioner = EVERYDAY CARE
3 - INTENSIVE CARE
Fusion Intense Repair Mask
This is where the mask comes in.
The mask is the more intensive treatment step for damaged, fragile and breakage-prone hair.
Use it when your lengths need more care than your usual routine provides.
Mask = EXTRA INTENSIVE CARE
“Do I have to use Conditioner AND Mask in the same wash?”
Not necessarily.
More products don't automatically mean more benefits.
Depending on your hair type, condition and how it responds to richer products, you may use the mask as your intensive conditioning step rather than automatically layering mask + conditioner every single time.
For fine hair especially, piling on rich products can simply be more than your hair needs.
“So when should I reach for the Mask?”
Think about the condition of your hair.
If your lengths are feeling particularly rough, fragile, stressed or difficult to manage, that's when an intensive treatment may make sense in your routine.
Your routine can change according to what your hair needs — it doesn't have to be identical at every wash.
AN EASY WAY TO REMEMBER
Regular wash:
Shampoo → Conditioner → Style
When your hair needs intensive care:
Shampoo → Mask → Style
And if your own hair responds well to using conditioner alongside a mask, you can adapt the routine accordingly.
There isn't a prize for using the greatest number of products in one shower.
CAN I USE FUSION WITH PRODUCTS FROM OTHER RANGES?
Absolutely.
A hair routine doesn't have to belong entirely to one collection.
For example, you may love Fusion for damage care but use a different styling product, oil or heat protector that suits another concern.
Build your routine around your hair's needs, not around making every bottle on the shelf match.
VELLORA EXPLAINS ✦
Think of your routine like this:
SHAMPOO → cleans
CONDITIONER → regular conditioning
MASK → intensive conditioning treatment
You don't need everything, every time.
The best routine isn't the one with the most products.
It's the one where every product has a reason to be there. ✨
